On the 30th and 31st of October depending on where in the world you are, there will be a New Moon in the constellation of Scorpio. Scorpio is a fixed water sign ruled by Pluto, representing empowerment, passion, transformation, change, restoration, sex, secrets, financial partnerships and intense emotions.
The new moon is where we set our intentions, and we do this now because our thinking is clearer. This is because we see the moon as just a slither in the sky and our emotions have not yet fully engaged.
The intenseness of the Scorpio New Moon gives us the window to look deeply into ourselves and ask what are the most important things in our life. We can then discard the unnecessary baggage to give our thinking and decision-making more clarity.
If things aren’t working anymore, whether it’s a job, a relationship that has lost its spark or maybe a business needing change, let it go or let parts of it go – don’t hang on to it. The more you hang on the more difficult it will be; when you let things go it gives space for the new to come, be it things, people or experiences.
Look at your deepest wishes and desires, however, it is difficult if you are stuck in your emotions but you can use the Scorpio New Moon to set serious new goals and intentions.
Scorpio rules self-mastery and will inspire you to have the courage and determination to face things that are unpleasant including any hardships you have, to make you become stronger.
If it is financial and connected to other people’s money such as joint partnerships and investing, you may find a resolution in this time so it’s ideal to examine your own finances in depth. Really look at how your situation is now and write down how you want to be.
Facing our fears causes intense emotions to run high with Scorpio, but they must be brought to the surface so you can address them fully. Interestingly whether it’s other people or situations that push our buttons, it gives us the opportunity to look at ourselves honestly for change to take place. This is the magic of Scorpio.
Scorpio is the only sign that represents three stages of transformation. The Scorpion who goes into the intense darkest depths of emotion to change to the Phoenix rising up from the ashes, to eventually the Dove, representing peace and our spirit. If you push your emotions down, they will only return with more intensity.
We can be so incredibly hard on ourselves so in astrology when we need help we look to the opposite sign; for Scorpio the opposite sign is gentle, patient and kind Taurus.
Here are some suggestions for good things to do during the New Moon in Scorpio:
- Do you want to pursue your passion? Go for it!
- Be brave, face your fears, because just on the other side is your power!
- What can you recycle? Be creative!
- Let go of any of those old fears and limiting beliefs that are holding you back.
- Be in control of your finances.
- Let go of relationships, let go of “things”.
For those of you on days 10 to 12 of your cycle, sex will be incredibly important in the days leading to ovulation. You will be feeling more amorous, perhaps taking on the role of sexy Marilyn Monroe. Physiologically speaking our bodies tell us we are more fertile than usual so if you’re attracted to someone sexually, you may just get what you want during this cycle.
If you are on day 19 your creative juices may be flowing, and with progesterone on the rise, you may be surprised at your ability to solve problems with “out of the box” ideas.
Days 23 through to 28 can be challenging due to your hormones dropping off and the beginning of PMS. Be aware of your emotions as this energy can be incredibly intense. This will be your opportunity to delve into those emotions and look at what thoughts are triggering them. Take a deep breath and channel that energy into what you desire.
It is recommended you take time to do meditation, look at your nutrition and what you are putting into your body and how it’s making you feel.
