On the 7th and 8th of April depending on where in the world you are, there will be a New Moon in the constellation of Aries. Aries is the first sign of the astrological wheel ruling the first house with its ruling planet Mars. Mars is an anagram of RAM which symbolises Aries. Aries is described as expressive, full of cardinal fire. Like air, fire cannot be contained.
The New Moon is where you set “your intention” and “feel your desired intention” in your body. This is the original formula for the creative process that has been around for thousands and thousands of years. It is also stated in one of the laws of the Seven Hermetic Principals….As Above, So Below, As Within, So Without; you’ll also find this law in many ancient texts and scriptures. It is also known in our laws of physics – it is the Law of Cause and Effect.
Intention, and feeling your intention marries the conscious mind to the sub-conscious mind. It starts with an idea (your conscious mind) and through feeling enters the sub-conscious mind where the creative process takes place. This can also be seen as the male and female, objective and subjective. Think of it like when a baby is conceived: the male plants the seed (conscious mind plants the idea) in the female where conception and the creative process takes place (the subconscious). Once you have married, the idea with the “feeling” of your desire, it will manifest into the physical world. All you have to do is match your behaviour as if the thing you really want is already here!
This process is nothing new, however you may never have thought of this “Law” when relating it to using your ideas and feelings of intention during the New Moon.
To work with the New Moon energy in Aries, let’s first visit what the meaning of Aries is and how you can take this incredibly powerful energy to begin the creative process for your desire.
Aries is the first sign on the astrological wheel because it sits on the equinox, the 21st March. The brilliance of Aries is described as brave, courageous, assertive, proactive, passionate, inventive and pioneering. There is also the distorted side of Aries. Often people either born under this sign or have very strong Aries energy can be accused of acting without thinking. (We often see this manifest in road rage, e.g. when someone cuts you off – this is an example of Aries energy). They often speak without thinking and are known for starting things and not finishing them. However, if you want the energy of getting a project moving have an Aries on your side – they’ll get into action full steam ahead, but if you can’t keep up they may leave you behind.
What does this all mean for you? The New Moon in Aries is the ideal time for you to take the risk and put your ideas into action.
What are you passionate about that you love to do that is unique to you? Some great things for you do to is to move out of your comfort zone and jump into the deep end! Are there any activities you’ve always wanted to try? If so, now’s the time to enhance that Aries energy and go for it! Don’t hold back – have that adventure! Start something new, let your ideas flow into your feelings and watch for signals.
Here are some suggestions for good things to do during the New Moon in Aries:
- Do something new and move out of your comfort zone.
- Take a risk and have a go – maybe you want to start a blog or a new business.
- Try activities that you’ve always wanted to try – summon the courage to try them.
- Go on an adventure!
- Do something you’ve never done before.
- Can you invent something or reinvent yourself?
- Stick up for yourself if you know and feel you are right. If you have tried to keep the peace in the past, stand up for what you believe to be true and don’t allow others to manipulate you or tell you what to do.
- Plant those new seeds, in suggestions, ideas or in the literal sense. It may mean you need to seek out information or meet with someone.
- Be a pioneer – you may have an idea that no one else has acted on, so now’s the time!
Be aware of Aries’s other side. Aries energy is very powerful, instinctive and makes you quick to act and react. It is cardinal fire so how do you contain it? Well, you can’t! This can demonstrate itself in your speech, where you might blurt things out without thinking, so be aware.
For those of you on days 6 to 10, rising Estrogen is ramping up your ability to focus, and make quick decisions. If you have something new you want to start, your ability to make quick decisions will help create a path to follow. You’ll be more inclined to put actions in place. Toward days 9 and 10 your brain could be turned into a rapid firing machine, so you may find yourself analysing and re-analysing conversations and memories. Although this can be so good it can lead to depression so be mindful.
If you are later into your cycle, day 23 through to 28 can be challenging, due to your hormones dropping off and the beginning of PMS. Coupled with Aries energy this can be a volatile time where you may speak first and think later, and things can just seem difficult. Again just be aware of yourself. Take a deep breath and channel that energy into what you desire.
Sometimes we can feel so overwhelmed that we just need to escape. Meditation is so incredible for our health and mental state so take time to meditate.
