On the 20th and the 21st of July depending on where in the world you are, there will be a full moon in the constellation of Capricorn.
As a reminder, the full moon is a “Yang” or male energy expressing itself outwards. This is where you have the choice to move ahead with your intention of the new moon in Cancer or to accept that your intention is not for the best at this time. You can either release it or course correct it. Each full moon reminds us that the seeds we plant in a new moon may be coming to maturity to be expressed in this world.
Before we venture a little deeper into what this full moon means let’s have a recap on the energy of Capricorn. Capricorn is a cardinal Earth sign ruled by Saturn. Capricorn represents practicality, achievements, structure, time, being responsible and working hard to lay firm foundations. Saturn is sometimes referred to as a cold planet because it is the house of business.
Cancer is the opposite of Capricorn and you may feel the sensitivities of Cancer and this could invoke a greater need to feel safe and secure. In saying this it is you who may need to be the strong one for those around you. A cardinal sign initiates action and can at times trigger the emotions of Cancer as cold and unfeeling. It can be somewhat of a paradox for some.
With this full moon in Capricorn, you may be working towards goals you have set for yourself; now is the time to reap and enjoy the fruits of your labour. This is the ideal time to get things done, complete tasks, get organised and really go for your career goals!
Because the Sun is in Cancer at this time, look at ways you can have both emotional and material security. See how you can find the balance between heart and head.
Here are some suggestions for good things to do during this full moon in Capricorn:
- Make a list and get organised to get more things done
- Think of how you can make things easier by having structure
- Accept full responsibility for your actions and don’t blame others
- Learn some practical skills
- Spend time in the garden to connect you back to the Earth
- Spend time with animals to connect and settle your emotions
On Days 5 to 7, you’ll have the ability to focus as your Oestrogen is on the rise. This is the perfect time to start getting things organised, be it your cheque book, garden or bringing some structure to your emotions. Day 7 especially is good for being laser focused; you’ll be able to create a firm foundation and get things done.
Day 9 could be a challenge and your brain may turn into a rapid fire machine because of the high level of Oestrogen. If you find yourself over-analysing and going over past conversations this will be a good time to look at your emotions and find what is triggering this behaviour.
As Capricorn and Cancer are both cardinal or initiating signs be aware of your emotions at this time. This can sometimes be the time we fly off the handle without thinking as our emotions have kicked in. This can be so difficult for a lot of people; we can hurt others and ourselves so watch your temper as emotions may be tense.
Here is one of the most inspiring women in the world – 96-year-old yoga master Tao Porchon-Lynch. We can learn from her incredible life (which includes marching with Mahatma Gandhi to modelling for Coco Chanel), her indomitable spirit and her philosophy of oneness.
Walking on stage with her signature high heels and easing into a fully raised lotus position, Tao makes us all believe “there is nothing you cannot do!”
As always, it is recommended you take time to do meditation, look at your nutrition and what you are putting into your body and how it’s making you feel.
